Are you craving Asian cuisine? Here’s where to go for the best bites in the city.
The best restaurants in Dubai for Asian food
From a Chinese gastropub to low-calorie Japanese grills and sushi with an artisan French twist, the new wave of Asian restaurants in Dubai are anything but ordinary.
We’ve narrowed it down to our top three picks and selected the most nutritious dishes on each menu – meaning you can still dine out while sticking to that New Year health kick.
Han Shi Fu in Dubai
Brought to you by the team behind the wildly popular Din Tai Fung located in Mall of the Emirates, this new brand culinary opening certainly lives up to the hype.
Tagging itself as “a modern Chinese and Asian fusion gastropub and restaurant”, Han Shi Fu can be found inside Aloft City Centre Deira, a hip movie-themed hotel on Dubai Creek.
Insta-snappers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to the interiors – think vibrant neon-toned lighting, oversized Chinese scrolls hanging from the ceiling and an entire wall splashed with cool ceramics.
A fusion of bold flavours, the menu is just as playful as the décor, taking inspiration from trendy street food favourites found across the world, from Taipei to Hong Kong, Shanghai and even New York.
Our highlights included the spicy beef sirloin hot pot and matcha green tea velvet cake, washed down with an array of quirky colourful cocktails.
The healthy-minded can opt for the chicken lettuce wraps, wok-charred fresh cauliflower and roasted wild mushroom with yuba – all of which are on the lower end of the calorie-spectrum but still brimming with taste.
Teriyaki Experience in Dubai
Recently opened inside Mall of the Emirates close by to Carrefour Dubai, this restaurant chain has something of a cult following thanks to its mouth-watering Japanese grills, which you can have served with proteins, tofu or veggies.
One of the healthiest options among the food court’s wide offering, there are plenty of light options on the menu for the whole family to enjoy.
Prepared fast and fresh, standout dishes include the super grains vedge bowl, build-your-own noodle bowls, miso soup and lots more.
SushiArt in Dubai
Tuck into tasty platters of sustainably sourced sushi, sashimi and maki at SushiArt, a contemporary concept eatery serving up imaginative Japanese fare.
Created by award-winning chef Thierry Marx, the dishes at SushiArt almost look too pretty to eat (get that Instagram snap in quickly), but you’ll soon end up devouring the lot.
The avocado spring rolls, salmon tartare and citrus seabream poke bowl are just a few of our menu favourites.
