Majid Al Futtaim, the Middle East’s retail pioneer, understands the importance of creating great moments this Eid Al Adha, by hosting an extended itinerary filled with entertaining performances, traditional activities and shopping rewards as the shopping malls celebrate the Eid holiday from today to October 11th.

Live statues will bring treats from the streets to welcome visitors as they step foot at Mall of the Emirates from October 4th to 10th. Performing, in intervals, throughout the day, four performers will create the illusion of complete stillness and entertain mall visitors with small gestures. Be surprised by the traveler and Dolce Vita at the welcome courts at 5:00pm, 6:30pm, 8:00pm and 9:00pm.

A few steps away from Mall of the Emirates’ entrances are ballerinas in tutus and pointe shoes inside a bubble elegantly gliding in arabesque or classical choreography across the Central Galleria. The elegant performances will be presented in split, 10-minute shows, from October 5th to 11th at 6:30pm, 8:00pm and 9:30pm.

From October 2nd to 11th, give the decorated wall at City Centre Deira a closer look and be surprised as it comes alive revealing a contortionist that will take your breath away. Showing off seemingly impossible positions, the 30-minute performance will take place on the first level at 4:00 pm, 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm. On October 5th to 11th at 5:00pm, 6:30pm and 9:00pm, the West Court of City Centre Deira will be dedicated to music lovers as ‘Princesses of Pop’ come on stage engaging the crowd to sing-along while paying tribute to Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Rihanna and the most recent who visited Dubai, Lady Gaga.

Dinosaur and zoo animal mascots will excite families with their unique style of interaction at City Centre Mirdif from October 2nd – 11th. Catch the fun-loving animals as they parade around the mall at 4:00 pm, 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm. The Central Galleria will set the stage for an interactive Carnival Show that will feature stilt walkers, jugglers, unicyclist and dancers. Bring back childhood memories on October 4th to 11th at 5:00pm, 6:30pm and 9:00pm. During the official Eid holidays on October 4th to 6th, an Emirati Majlis will be set up at Central Galleria while mall visitors can enjoy watching the local band from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

A roaming candy table will be handing out sweets to the public at 9:30pm, 10:30pm and 11:30 pm from October 5th to 8th at City Centre Deira, and then will move to City Centre Mirdif from October 9th to 11th.

In the Northern Emirates, City Centre Ajman, City Centre Fujairah and City Centre Sharjah have partnered with Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre to strengthen Muslim values by organizing cultural activities at the mall. From October 4th to 6th between 5:00pm and 9:00pm, mall visitors will be handed halwa (sweets) and coffee, and the younger ones will receive Eidiyya (monetary gifts). A local band will also perform traditional dances engaging customers to join the celebration.

In Sharjah, Majid Al Futtaim’s neighborhood retail centres are celebrating in a community based family environment. At My City Centre Al Nasseriya and all Matajers in Al Quoz, Al Khan, Al Mirgab and Al Juraina, kids can enjoy face painting and will walk away with colorful balloons. Also, at My City Centre Al Nasseriya, Matajer Al Mirgab and Matajer Al Juraina, henna artists will draw traditional designs for mall visitors.

A two-week intensified ‘Hi-Fi Tuesdays’ campaign will complement the celebrations, where shoppers will be rewarded with more chances of winning shopping sprees. Shoppers who spend a minimum of AED150 from any store within Mall of the Emirates and City Centres in Deira, Mirdif, Ajman & Fujairah from September 25th to October 11th, will get a chance to win AED 10,000, instead of AED 5,000 weekly.

‘Hi-Fi Tuesdays’ is the first-ever campaign with ‘rolling’ prize pot, which means the winning amount accumulates each week in the event of unclaimed prizes. Weekly prizes will be drawn at each mall on Tuesdays at 7:00pm. Winners must claim their prize from the mall within 15 minutes, otherwise the amount is rolled over into main prize pot for greater winnings and rewards for shoppers the following week.
