Majid Al Futtaim’s malls in Dubai set to celebrate good fortune and prosperity for Chinese New Year 2016

Mall of the Emirates, City Centres Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem and Al Shindagha host traditional inspired parades, stage shows and roaming acts.

 

Majid Al Futtaim’s malls in Dubai: Mall of the Emirates, City Centres Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem and Shindagha, will welcome in good fortune and prosperity on the occasion of Chinese New Year, with an exciting line-up of cultural performances from February 8th to February 21st, 2016.

To usher in the start of 2016 in the Chinese calendar, the ‘Year of the Monkey’, Majid Al Futtaim malls in Dubai will deliver an array of engaging family-friendly activities with compelling acts from traditional characters that represent the Chinese culture.

“Chinese New Year has become a highlight in our annual calendar of celebratory events and an ideal opportunity to follow through our vision of creating great moments for everyone, everyday. Chinese guests have become a vital part of our mall’s communities, whether they be residents or tourists, and we look forward to welcoming all shoppers at Mall of the Emirates and City Centre malls in Dubai to enjoy two weeks of compelling shows as we celebrate the energy of this festive holiday,” said Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Senior Director – Property Development, Shopping Malls for Majid Al Futtaim.

Starting on February 8th at 4:30pm, a beautiful show of Chinese inspired performers will parade through Mall of the Emirates, Majid Al Futtaim’s flagship lifestyle and luxury shopping destination, directing shoppers to the Main Galleria where they will be treated to a stunning stage show. Minji hostesses will open the show with performances from Chinese Warriors, elegant umbrella dancers, a Chinese lion and a dancing laughing monk against a backdrop of culturally inspired imagery from giant fans, traditional kites and scattered flowers. At the end of each show audience members will have the opportunity to take photographs with the talented artists. The mall parade and stage shows will be held daily at Mall of the Emirates until February 21st.

While visitors of City Centres Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem and Al Shindagha will enjoy roaming shows featuring Chinese lions, valiant acrobatic samurais and beautiful geishas, twirling umbrellas, dancing Minji girls and imperial warriors. The malls will host daily parade shows that are sure to captivate the whole family with dynamic acts influenced by the rich and colourful Chinese culture.
